This capitalization in June 2019 is funded by USD 1.5 million in catalytic capital from the World Bank.
The fund is structured as a self-managed permanent capital vehicle and our assets under management
reached USD 2.5 million in 2019, following another investment of USD 1m from the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF).
The target fund size is USD 10 million with a minimum fund size of USD 4 million.

Our vision is to provide green SGBs the required patient capital and technical assistance to enable them to
create jobs, improve livelihoods and drive inclusive growth in a climate-resilient and gender-responsive way.

The Opportunity

There is a growing number of green SGBs that can drive a Green Economic Recovery in Africa by harnessing the Youth Bulge while addressing Climate Change. These green SGBs require patient capital and technical assistance to fully unleash the forces that are in Africa to create jobs, improve livelihoods and drive inclusive growth in a climate-resilient and gender-responsive way.

1

2

This young African population is tech-savvy, entrepreneurial and has shown the ability to develop and adopt innovative solutions.

3

The growing urban population needs sustainable food production, basic services, sustainable waste management, and other climate-smart solutions.

4

The push for a Green Recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic enhances the economic opportunities as African countries seek to attain climate resilience and meet the Paris Agreement targets.
