Ebenezer Arthur

Chief Executive Officer

Ebenezer Arthur is the founder and CEO of Wangara Green Ventures, an impact investment company in Ghana, West Africa with catalytic capital from the World Bank and the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF).

He has more than 15 years of experience in impact investing, climate finance and enterprise support, management consulting, and financial services. He co-founded Innohub, one of the leading business accelerators in Ghana, which has managed several programs for development agencies, including the Ghana Climate Venture Facility and the Ghana Tech Lab, funded by the World Bank. Ebenezer previously
worked with EY where he provided advisory services to companies across West Africa in various industries including the financial services, insurance, and extractive industries. He also worked in the financial services industry and started his banking career with Zenith Bank.

He has an MBA (Entrepreneurship) and a Certificate in Climate Change (Financial Risks and Opportunities) from Imperial College London.
He also holds the Responsible Investment Professional Certification from the Responsible Investment Association of Canada and is an alumnus of the Oxford Impact Investing Program. His first degree was in Computer Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Ebenezer has attended the Small-Cap SME Mezzanine Finance Masterclass (DGGF) and the SME Ventures Fund Manager Training Program (IFC and I&P).

He has also attended the ANDE Investment Manager Training of Trainers Course. Ebenezer is passionate about building impact investing ecosystems and is a member of the Board Nominations Committee of Impact Investing Ghana (IIGh) and the Executive Committee of the Ghana Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (GVCA). He also serves on the Business Development Committee of the Canada Forum for Impact Investing and International Development (CAFIID) and the Advisory Board of BKR Capital which invests in promising black tech founders in Canada and beyond. He is a 2019 Aspen Ideas Festival Fellow. 

Isaac Asomani, CFA

Chief Investment Officer

Isaac provides financial evaluation of investment opportunities, undertakes due diligence, uses financial modeling and valuation methods to assess the advantages of investing in small and growing Ghanaian businesses.
He previously worked at Gold Coast Fund Management, where he served as the Lead Analyst for Provident Funds. He also worked as a Mutual Fund Analyst and a Fund Administrator at Gold Coast Fund Management. He was a key member of a Team that helped grow and manage the Mutual Fund Portfolio. He holds a BSc. in Banking & Finance from the University of Professional Studies, Accra.

He has completed the Ghana Stock Exchange Securities Course and the ANDE Investment Manager Training. Isaac is a CFA charter holder

Stephen Antwi-Asimeng

Senior Fund Advisor – Independent Board Member

An investment banker with over 28 years of experience. He served as the Managing Director of Fidelity Capital Partners (later Jacana Partners then Mustard Capital Partners) which was one of the early venture capital funds in Ghana.

He led Fidelity Capital to $40m+ in AUM with 14+ investments and 10+ exits. He has also worked at Fidelity Discount House, Universal Merchant Bank as the COO and also served as the CEO of UT Bank.

He holds a M.A. in Banking and Finance from the University of Wales and executive education from the Amsterdam Institute of Finance and Harvard Business School.

Renald Appiah

Portfolio Manager

Renald leads the portfolio management team,providing business development support to the assets under management. He provides portfolio monitoring support as well as leads the fund administration and investor reporting function of the fund. He currently manages a €1m Loan Management Program,sponsored by Achmea Foundation & Solidaridad West Africa, tailored to providing patient capital and technical assistance to four oil palm companies.

Renald has gained experience over the years in impact investing, management consulting, business acceleration and retail banking. He was the Business Development Manager at Innohub where he was responsible for providing business development services as well as capital raise support to the portfolio companies. He co-led in the set-up of the Ghana Tech Lab and Accra Angels Network.

He has a Masters in Development Finance from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from University of Cape Coast. He has an Investment Advisor Representative Liicense from the Ghana Stock Exchange and has undergone the Investment Manager Training Program by Aspen Institute (ANDE).

KWABENA OWUSU-SARFO

Portfolio Manager

Kwabena manages the portfolio management function, including monitoring portfolio activities, overseeing fund administration, and handling investor reporting. He leads technical assistance programs, capacity building, and coordinates the Fund’s annual impact report. Additionally, he supports fundraising, investor due diligence, and investor relations.

Previously, Kwabena worked at Deloitte West Africa as an Experienced Financial Analyst, delivering consultancy and advisory services to corporate and public sector clients across diverse industries. His experience includes working in both advanced and developing economies, such as Ghana, Zambia, Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Kwabena holds a Master of Business Administration with honours from Coventry University (UK) and a Bachelor of Business from Bond University in Queensland, Australia.

Aikins Partu

Investment Officer

Aikins is an impact financing enthusiast with over thirteen (13) years of experience in the financial services sector. With a strong background in small business, credit risk management, and debt recovery, he is deeply committed to driving positive change through sustainable investment practices.
Throughout his career, Aikins has specialized in supporting small businesses, mitigating enterprise risks, and managing debt recovery processes. His extensive experience in the Ghanaian financial landscape has equipped him with a unique perspective on navigating challenges and identifying opportunities for impactful investment. Aikins holds a Master of Science in Development Finance from the University of Ghana Business School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from KNUST.

ABIGAIL MATEY

Investment Officer

Abigail is a Portfolio Analyst at Wangara. She works closely with the Portfolio Manager and is responsible for the ESG and Compliance review of all Wangara’s portfolio companies, as well as the Wangara fund. She has prior experience working in audit and with an FMCG company.

Abigail holds a Bachelor’s degree (BSC Accounting) from the University of Ghana Business School and is currently a member of the 2022 graduating class, MBA Finance, also from the University of Ghana Business School.

NAA OODEY OKAI

Impact & ESG Lead

Naa Oodey supports the investment team and is responsible for building Wangara’s investment pipeline. She has prior experience working in the corporate banking sector.

She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology and is a candidate for Ghana Investment and Securities Institute – Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment in London (GISI-CISI) Qualification Pathway.

Obed Nii Amaa Ollennu

Investment Officer

Obed Nii Amaa Ollennu is a seasoned banking and finance professional with eight years of experience. He holds a degree from the University of Professional Studies and is certified in credit administration, affiliated with the CIM. Obed has excelled in roles such as credit management, investment management, recoveries management, relationship management, and portfolio associates. Currently, he serves as the Investment Officer at Wangara Green Ventures, leveraging his expertise in the financial sector.

LAWRENCIA LAMPTEY

Compliance Officer

Lawrencia is the Compliance Officer of Wangara Green Venture Capital Limited where she is responsible for managing compliance and anti-money laundering issues within the company.
Prior to Wangara, she served as the AML/CFT Analyst of Advans Ghana Savings and Loans where she ensured that the company complies with the AML rules and regulations to prevent the company from being used as a money laundering hub. She also investigated and monitored transactions that appear to be suspicious.
In 2018, she worked with IGS Financial Services as a Compliance Officer where together with the Compliance Manager ensured that the company adhered to the directives and regulations from the Securities and Commission.
Lawrencia holds the Ghana Securities Industry Certificate from the Ghana Stock Exchange, and a degree in Management Studies from the University of Cape Coast.
